In a new build project, plaster is typically one of the last things to be installed. Below you can find specifics on how to prepare different areas.
Interior plaster: All areas must be finished to sheetrock level 4 and prepped as if walls are being painted.
Shower plaster (Microcement / tadelakt): Prep for a shower using tadelakt plaster is very specific. An on site meeting with a builder and a project manager must be conducted prior to starting application.
Kitchen hoods: Kitchen hoods must be finished to a level 4 sheetrock and paint ready. The area for the blower should be predetermined and cut with a finished corner bead. If kitchen hood requires plywood, MDF, or any wood construction, all corners must be beveled clean and straight.
Fireplaces: Fireplaces must be finished to a sheet rock level 4 and paint ready. Per code, sheetrock and substrate around firebox needs to be fire resistant. Around the firebox, a clean aluminum corner bead must be installed. Floor and sheetrock must meet without any gaps.
Exteriors: Exterior prep may vary. An on site meeting will need to be conducted prior to starting prep and installation.
